Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups cooked pasta (such as elbow macaroni)
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional toppings: pickles, ketchup, mustard, lettuce
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until the beef is cooked through and the onion is softened. Drain any excess grease.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef and onion mixture with the cooked pasta, diced tomatoes (undrained), beef broth, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to minimize grease.
- Cook pasta al dente to prevent it from becoming mushy during baking.
- Don’t overbake the casserole; you want the cheese melted and bubbly, not burnt.
- Customize the casserole with your favorite burger toppings.
