Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs Ground Beef
- 2 lbs Potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 medium Onion, chopped
- 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 can (10.75 oz) Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 cup Milk or beef broth
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Optional: Garlic powder, paprika, or other desired spices
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Dice the potatoes and chop the onion. Grate the cheddar cheese if not using pre-shredded cheese.
- Cook the Ground Beef and Onions: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent. Drain excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and desired spices.
- Assemble the Casserole: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer half of the diced potatoes, cooked ground beef mixture, and sprinkle with one-third of the cheese. Repeat layers. Mix soup with milk or broth, pour over casserole, and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake the Casserole: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted. Let it rest before serving.
Notes
- Ensure potatoes are evenly diced for uniform cooking.
- Cook ground beef just until browned to avoid dryness.
- Use high-quality cheddar cheese for best flavor.
- Adjust seasonings as needed for personal taste.
- Let casserole rest after baking to help it set.
