Instructions
- Preparing the Coffee Mixture: Brew the coffee and let it cool completely. Stir in the coffee liqueur if using. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish for dipping the ladyfingers.
- Making the Mascarpone Cream: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. In a separate bowl, soften the mascarpone cheese by whisking gently. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone in three parts until smooth and fully combined. Avoid overmixing to maintain a light texture.
- Assembling the Tiramisu: Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee mixture (about 1–2 seconds per side) to avoid oversoaking. Arrange a single layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.
- Finishing Touches: Dust the top generously with cocoa powder using a fine sieve for an even layer. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
