Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza dough ball (or homemade dough)
- ½ cup marinara sauce (or pizza sauce)
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Sliced bell peppers (red, yellow, greenâfor scales and accents)
- Black olives (slicedâfor eyes and details)
- Pepperoni slices (for wings and body)
- Red onion slices (thinly cutâfor flames)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for finishing touches)
Instructions
- Roll out the pizza dough into a large oval or dragon-shaped base on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Pre-bake for 5 minutes at 475°F (245°C) if desired to prevent sogginess.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously across the surface.
- Arrange pepperoni slices in the shape of a dragonâs body, using overlapping slices for texture. Use sliced bell peppers to create colorful scales along the body.
- Add black olive slices for eyes and other details. Form âflamesâ using thin strips of red onion near the dragonâs mouth.
- Bake at 475°F (245°C) for 12â15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves after baking if desired.
Notes
- Use store-bought dough for convenience or make your own for a personalized touch.
- Add delicate toppings like red onion or basil toward the end of baking or after removing the pizza from the oven to prevent burning.
- Customize toppings based on preferencesâmushrooms, spinach, or pineapple work well too.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pizza dough and dairy-free cheese.
- Freeze leftover slices tightly wrapped in foil for up to 1 month; reheat in the oven for best results.
