- 3–4 pound beef chuck roast
- 1 packet Italian dressing mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Hoagie rolls, for serving
- Optional toppings: giardiniera, provolone cheese, sautéed peppers and onions
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker. Optionally, sear the roast in a skillet to enhance flavor, then add to the slow cooker.
- Combine Italian dressing mix, au jus gravy mix, beef broth, water, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and pour over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until beef is tender and shreds easily.
- Remove beef, shred with forks, and return to the slow cooker to absorb juices. Serve on hoagie rolls with your favorite toppings.
