Ingredients
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Cremini or button mushrooms
- Freshly grated Asiago cheese
- Fresh garlic
- Olive oil
- Chicken broth
- Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Slice the mushrooms and season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the seasoned chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove and set aside. Sauté sliced mushrooms until tender.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about a minute. Pour in chicken broth and simmer, scraping browned bits from the skillet. Stir in grated Asiago cheese until melted.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over it, and let it simmer for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
- Use high-quality, freshly grated Asiago cheese for better flavor.
- Avoid overcrowding the skillet for even browning.
- Adjust garlic and Italian seasoning as per your taste.
- Pair with pasta, rice, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- Add a splash of heavy cream for a creamier sauce.
