Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (70% cocoa or higher)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
- ½ cup natural fruit jam (homemade or store-bought, no added sugar preferred)
- Optional: chia seeds or finely chopped nuts for texture
- For Coating (Optional): crushed almonds, pistachios, coconut flakes, chia seeds, hemp hearts, or cocoa powder
Instructions
- Melt dark chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Add coconut oil if desired for a thinner consistency.
- Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate into mini muffin liners or silicone molds. Use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly along the bottom and sides. Freeze for 5 minutes to set slightly.
- Place a small dollop of jam in the center of each chocolate shell, leaving space to seal the top. Cover with more melted chocolate, smoothing the surface with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle optional coatings before the chocolate hardens.
- Chill the bites in the freezer for 10–15 minutes until firm. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
- For a vegan option, use dairy-free chocolate and plant-based jam.
- Low-carb alternative: Use sugar-free jam and keto-friendly chocolate.
- Nut-free option: Skip nut coatings and use seeds or coconut flakes instead.
- Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
- Experiment with different jams like strawberry, raspberry, apricot, or mango for varied flavors.
