Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package (16-20 ounces) store-bought gnocchi
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: shredded cheese for topping
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Break it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (undrained), garlic powder, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- While the beef mixture simmers, cook the gnocchi according to the package directions, typically boiling in salted water until they float, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain the gnocchi and add to the skillet with the beef and tomato sauce. Stir to combine and serve hot, topped with shredded cheese if desired.
Notes
- Donβt overcook the gnocchi; they should float to the surface to avoid becoming mushy.
- Drain the beef well to prevent the dish from being oily.
- Season to taste, adjusting salt and pepper as needed.
- Add extra vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for enhanced nutrition and flavor.
