Instructions
1. Preparing the Cookie Dough
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg, vanilla extract, and cream soda, beating until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
2. Chilling the Dough
- Cover and chill the dough for 30-60 minutes to prevent spreading.
3. Baking the Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop 1.5-inch dough balls onto the sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set but centers are soft.
- Let cookies cool completely before icing.
4. Making the Blue and Bronze Swirl Icing
- Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract.
- Divide icing into two bowls; color one blue and the other bronze.
- Fill piping bags with both colors and swirl onto cookies.
5. Decorating the Cookies
- Use a toothpick to create beautiful swirl designs.
- Add edible gold dust or sprinkles for a magical touch!
