- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 2 cups chicken or beef broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped onion or bell pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground sausage over medium heat. If using, add chopped onion or bell pepper and cook until tender.
- Stir in the rice, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour in the chicken or beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, let sit covered for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork, and serve hot.
