Ingredients
Scale
- 1 store-bought or homemade pie crust (double if making a full top crust)
- 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ tsp sea salt (for the salted caramel)
- 1 tbsp butter (for dotting the filling)
Instructions
- Prepare the Apple Filling: Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Assemble the Pie Crust: Roll out the crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp edges for decoration.
- Make the Salted Caramel: Warm caramel sauce in a saucepan and stir in sea salt.
- Fill and Bake the Pie: Add apple filling to the crust, dot with butter, and drizzle half the caramel. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes until golden. Drizzle remaining caramel before serving.
Notes
- Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For extra crunch, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the filling.
- Use store-bought caramel for a quicker version.
