Ingredients
Scale
- Oreo Crust:
20 Oreo cookies (crushed into fine crumbs)
4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted) - Cheesecake Filling:
16 oz cream cheese (softened)
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp peppermint extract
½ cup heavy whipping cream
Green food coloring gel (optional, for Slytherin green) - Chocolate Ganache Drizzle:
½ cup dark chocolate chips
ÂĽ cup heavy cream - Optional Decorations:
Silver edible glitter or luster dust
Mint leaves or chocolate curls
Instructions
- Making the Oreo Crust: Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or zip-top bag and rolling pin. Mix the crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a springform pan or serving dish. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
- Preparing the Cheesecake Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, peppermint extract, and green food coloring (if using), mixing until fully combined. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until smooth and light. Spread the filling evenly over the chilled crust and smooth the top. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Making the Chocolate Ganache: Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until simmering. Pour the hot cream over the dark chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy. Allow the ganache to cool slightly before drizzling it over the chilled cheesecake.
- Decorating the Cheesecake: Add a final touch with silver edible glitter or luster dust for a shimmering effect. Garnish with mint leaves or chocolate curls if desired. Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute plant-based cream cheese and whipped cream, and use dairy-free chocolate chips.
- If you don’t have peppermint extract, infuse fresh mint leaves in warm cream, strain, and use the infused cream in the recipe.
- Chill the crust thoroughly before adding the filling to prevent sogginess.
- For gluten-free options, use gluten-free Oreos or almond flour for the crust.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
