- 1 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening
Optional Decorations:

Instructions
1. Prepare the Butterbeer Cookie Dough
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
- Stir in vanilla extract and cream soda, blending for a smooth, buttery dough.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined (avoid overmixing).
2. Chill the Dough
- Cover and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent cookies from spreading too much during baking.
3. Bake the Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
- Let cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
4. Make the Dark Chocolate Coating
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt dark chocolate chips with coconut oil, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
5. Coat & Decorate the Cookies
- Dip each cooled cookie halfway into the melted dark chocolate, then place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Sprinkle with edible gold dust or sprinkles for a Slytherin-inspired shimmer.
- Drizzle with extra melted chocolate for a sophisticated, polished look.
6. Set & Serve
- Let the chocolate coating set at room temperature for 15-20 minutes, or refrigerate for faster hardening.
- Serve and enjoy your enchanting wizard treats!
Notes
- Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour substitute.
- For a more intense butterbeer flavor, add ½ tsp butterscotch extract.
- For a richer chocolate coating, use semi-sweet or milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
