Indulge in these Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls—a soft, fluffy dough swirled with sweet strawberry filling and topped with a creamy glaze. Perfect for breakfast or brunch! 🍓🥐🍴

  • Total Time: 2 hours 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Dough:
  • 1 cup whole milk (warmed to 110°F/43°C)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 ½4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For the Filling:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup strawberry jam (homemade or store-bought)
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk (or cream)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Making the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy. Add eggs, melted butter, and 3 cups of flour. Mix until combined, then add remaining flour gradually until the dough is soft and slightly tacky. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  2. Preparing the Filling: In a small bowl, mix softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough. Dollop strawberry jam over the cinnamon-sugar layer and spread gently to create an even coating.
  3. Rolling and Cutting the Rolls: Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 12×18 inches). Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices using dental floss or a sharp knife. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  4. Baking and Glazing: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. While the rolls cool slightly, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Drizzle generously over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use plant-based milk, egg substitutes, dairy-free butter, and vegan glaze ingredients.
  • Gluten-free alternative: Use a gluten-free flour blend and ensure the jam is certified gluten-free.
  • Storage tip: Store rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
